After a decade on air, MBC’s long-running variety show The King of Mask Singer will be taking a break for the first time since its debut.
On October 24, MBC announced that the program will go on hiatus at the end of this year and return in the second half of 2026 with a completely revamped second season. The upcoming season will feature a new competition format designed to bring fresh excitement to the show’s familiar mystery and music appeal.

An official from MBC stated, “The King of Mask Singer, our flagship Sunday evening program that celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, will return with a restructured format and even more captivating performances. We’re taking this time to create a show that surpasses expectations.”
The final recordings before the break will continue through December, after which the production will pause its regular broadcasts in preparation for the new season.
