The story begins 23 years ago, when sixth-grader Junichi and three classmates bury a gun used in a previous crime under a cherry tree at school. The four friends keep this dark secret, only to be separated as time passes.
Years later, Junichi, now a police officer, is assigned to investigate a murder case. He reunites with Makiko, one of his former classmates and his first love, in the tense roles of detective and suspect. The chilling twist? The murder weapon turns out to be the very same gun they buried decades ago.
