Authorities have officially ruled that singer-actress Nana and her mother acted in legitimate self-defense during a violent home invasion incident earlier this month. On November 22, the Guri Police Station revealed that a man in his thirties—referred to as “A”—will be forwarded to the prosecution on charges of aggravated robbery and assault.

The incident occurred at around 6 a.m. on November 15, when “A” used a ladder to climb to Nana’s balcony and entered the home through an unlocked door. Upon encountering Nana’s mother, he allegedly strangled and injured her while demanding money. Nana, awakened by her mother’s screams, intervened, leading to a physical struggle. Together, Nana and her mother managed to overpower the intruder by restraining his arm and immediately contacted the authorities.

During the altercation, “A” suffered a laceration to his chin, caused by the weapon he had brought into the home. Police determined that the injury was accidental and occurred amid the intruder’s own violent actions.

“The victims suffered tangible harm, and our investigation confirmed that they did not inflict excessive injury while defending themselves,” the police stated. “Given the circumstances, their actions were deemed self-defense, and no charges will be filed against them.”

Investigators also confirmed that “A” did not target the residence knowing it belonged to a celebrity. Both Nana and her mother said they had never seen the suspect before, while “A” claimed he was unaware of who lived in the home at the time of the break-in.

Last week, Nana’s agency SUBLIME revealed that Nana’s mother lost consciousness due to the severity of the assault, and Nana herself sustained injuries while attempting to escape danger. Both are currently receiving medical care and rest.

As the investigation concludes, the suspect will now face prosecution for aggravated robbery and assault.
