A Wave of New Dramas Begins Filming in November: Diverse Genres and Star Lineups Shine

Although the number of new filming projects in November declined compared to last month’s surge, several notable series across a range of genres officially kicked off production. From espionage and fantasy to modern romance and real-life adaptations, the new lineups feature strong casts and creative teams.

The Republican-era espionage drama 《千里江山图》- Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains is adapted from Sun Ganlu’s novel and directed by Wang Jun, with Zhang Ruoyun and Liu Shishi starring. Set in 1933 Shanghai, the story follows underground Communist operative Chen Qianli as he investigates a traitor after a secret meeting is compromised and undertakes a classified mission titled “Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains.”

The historical fantasy drama Sword Comes, starring Wu Lei and Li Wantan, adapts the novel by “Fenghuo Xizhou.” It follows young Chen Ping’an, who becomes embroiled in a treasure conflict and eventually embarks on a sword-bearing journey across the martial world.

Tomorrow’s Paradise, an infinite-flow adventure series starring Zhong Chuxi and Yin Fang, depicts an ordinary girl who awakens special abilities amid extreme climate events and joins companions to uncover hidden conspiracies.

The wuxia-mystery drama Blood Cicada stars Hou Minghao, Zhang Wenxin, and Xu Zhenxuan, portraying three unconventional heroes who travel together to investigate a secret of immortality and confront personal destiny.

The contemporary drama Win the Wind, starring Huang Jingyu and Wan Peng, adapts the nonfiction book Express China. It follows rural youth Lu Yunxiang as he inherits a courier business and transforms it into a modern, centralized operation amid China’s booming e-commerce era.

The urban romance drama My One and Only stars Ao Ruipeng and Shen Yujie and explores how a couple in a business marriage reevaluates their relationship under emotional pressure and contractual constraints.

The coming-of-age workplace drama To My White Moonlight at the Wet Market, starring Zhang Jingyi and Chen Jingke, follows Ren Dongxue as a chance encounter reshapes her life, leading her through hard work, self-study, construction sites, and overseas challenges toward a transformative personal journey.

The Record of the Bright Moon, starring Wang Churan and Xin Yunlai, blends historical elements with romance as a reborn palace maid attempts to prevent a tragic fate and joins forces with a future eunuch to unravel political schemes.

The fantasy romance A Chan, starring Lin Yi and Amy, centers on two young people who travel back in time and swap souls through an antique pocket watch. Their efforts to change their families’ destinies test love, sacrifice, and the limits of time.
