MBC’s upcoming drama The Judge Returns has unveiled new stills, offering a glimpse into the intriguing and strained relationship between the married characters played by Ji Sung and Oh Se Young. Adapted from a web novel, the series follows a corrupt judge who travels 10 years back in time after an unexpected incident and attempts to reclaim justice in a life he once misused.

Ji Sung takes on the role of Lee Han Young, a judge from a humble background who becomes the so-called “slave judge” of Haenal Law Firm after marrying its youngest daughter, Yoo Se Hee. Their marriage, built on ambition and convenience rather than affection, grows cold over time. Upon returning to the past, Han Young approaches Se Hee again—this time with a subtle, knowing smile that hints at his new intentions.
Oh Se Young’s Yoo Se Hee is strong-willed and emotionally detached, shaped by a life without hardship. She turns her back on Han Young whenever he disobeys her powerful family’s commands. But when the timeline resets, her first meeting with Han Young takes place during an awkward blind date, slowly shifting her perspective as she begins to feel drawn to him.
Together, Ji Sung and Oh Se Young craft a nuanced portrayal of a marriage rebuilt from cold distance to renewed tension and unfamiliar warmth. Alongside their evolving relationship, the pair will also confront intense conflicts surrounding Haenal Law Firm and its influence over biased trials.
The Judge Returns is scheduled to premiere on January 2, 2026, at 9:40 p.m. KST.
