“KPop Demon Hunters” continues its impressive award-season run with two nominations at the 31st annual Critics Choice Awards.
On December 6 local time, the Critics Choice Association announced this year’s nominees, revealing that the film is competing for Best Animated Feature, alongside titles such as “Arco,” “Elio,” “In Your Dreams,” “Little Amélie or the Character of Rain,” and “Zootopia 2.” With its fusion of K-pop flair and supernatural storytelling, the film stands out as one of the more unconventional contenders in the category.

The movie’s popular track “Golden,” performed by the fictional girl group HUNTR/X, has also been nominated for Best Song. Other nominees include “Drive” (“F1”), “I Lied to You” (“Sinners”), “Clothed by the Sun” (“The Testament of Ann Lee”), “Train Dreams” (“Train Dreams”), and “The Girl in the Bubble” (“Wicked: For Good”).
The 31st Critics Choice Awards will be broadcast live on January 4, 2026, from 7 to 10 p.m. ET.
Meanwhile, “KPop Demon Hunters” recently earned the title of Best Animated Film from the New York Film Critics Circle Awards, further asserting its influence this award season.
