JTBC’s new drama Love Me has revealed a look at the chemistry between Seo Hyun Jin and Chang Ryul, offering a warm and realistic glimpse into their upcoming romance.

Adapted from the Swedish series of the same name, Love Me follows a seemingly selfish yet deeply relatable family, with each member embarking on their own journey of love and emotional growth.

Seo Hyun Jin plays Seo Joon Kyung, a successful OB-GYN whose life appears perfect from the outside. In truth, she hides profound loneliness. Cynical about romance—believing most relationships are either purely physical or dull—Joon Kyung keeps insisting she isn’t lonely and doesn’t need anyone.

But everything shifts when she repeatedly encounters her next-door neighbor, Ju Do Hyun (Chang Ryul), a music director known for his humor and easygoing nature. He becomes the first person to recognize the loneliness she works so hard to hide.
“Because they live next door, Joon Kyung and Do Hyun constantly run into each other, and new incidents keep arising,” said Seo Hyun Jin. “That’s why they continuously find themselves at crossroads.”

She added that Joon Kyung’s journey is about choices, trust, and believing that someone can protect both her and themselves through mutual sincerity.

Do Hyun, uninterested in dating until Joon Kyung steps into his life, carries his own history with loneliness.
Chang Ryul explained, “The fact that Do Hyun recognized her loneliness means he’s experienced the same. His desire to embrace someone comes from wanting to embrace the lonely version of himself from the past.”
He added, “Their charm isn’t perfection—it’s their sincerity and willingness to accept each other’s flaws.”

According to Chang Ryul, Do Hyun gradually brings warmth and comfort into Joon Kyung’s life: preparing warm meals, offering a restful home, and embracing every emotion she brings home each day.

Whether love can truly blossom depends on whether Do Hyun can become “someone she can trust at all times.”

The production team commented, “What makes their love realistic is that it isn’t perfect—it’s shaped by their acknowledgment of each other’s loneliness and their commitment not to overlook those emotions. We hope viewers will stay with them as they search for real, heartfelt answers at each crossroads.”

Love Me premieres on December 19 at 8:50 p.m.
