A remake of the Chinese film Us and Them, Once We Were Us tells the story of Eun Ho (played by Koo Kyo Hwan) and Jung Won (played by Mun Ka Young). Ten years after their passionate relationship came to an end, the two unexpectedly reunite, reopening memories they once believed had faded with time.

The newly released poster depicts a tender moment from the couple’s happiest days together. Notably, the image was inspired by fan-created artwork, which itself was based on a scene from the film’s trailer that quickly went viral. By drawing from fan interpretation, the poster reflects the emotional connection audiences have already formed with the story.

Leaning quietly into one another, Eun Ho and Jung Won are accompanied by the line, “Even if we break up, let’s still see each other sometimes.” The understated phrase carries a deep emotional weight, expressing the kind of gentle heartbreak that many couples experience when love gives way to reality.

The accompanying stills further enrich the film’s wistful romantic atmosphere. Dressed in plaid shirts emblematic of the era, the two characters appear as though they have stepped out of an old photo album, evoking warmth, nostalgia, and an ache for what once was.

Once We Were Us is scheduled to hit theaters on December 31, offering audiences a reflective love story that lingers long after the final scene.
