MBC’s New Romance Hints at Healing, Memory, and Reunion
MBC has unveiled the first teaser for its upcoming romance drama In Your Radiant Season, offering audiences an early look during the 2025 MBC Drama Awards. Starring Lee Sung Kyung and Chae Jong Hyeop, the series centers on two individuals shaped by loss and hidden pain, whose lives intersect at a turning point neither anticipated.

Lee Sung Kyung portrays Song Ha Ran, the head designer of the high-end fashion house Nana Atelier. Outwardly composed and professionally flawless, Ha Ran lives a carefully controlled life after retreating from the world due to the loss of loved ones. Her success conceals an emotional isolation that defines her character’s quiet struggle. Chae Jong Hyeop plays Sunwoo Chan, a character designer at a globally recognized animation studio. Beneath his warm and cheerful demeanor lies an unresolved wound stemming from a mysterious accident in his past.
Their story begins with a chance encounter that disrupts the balance of both lives. Cracks start to appear in Ha Ran’s tightly structured world, while Chan is confronted with an unimaginable secret that forces him to reexamine his past and step into a new chapter of his life. The narrative emphasizes emotional connection and gradual change rather than immediate romance.
The teaser opens with glimpses of Chan’s painful and enigmatic past before shifting to a present moment in which he notices Ha Ran in tears. Voice-over dialogue asks, “The summer from seven years ago?” followed by another line, “Didn’t something happen to that kid back then?” These fragments suggest unresolved events that continue to shape the characters’ present.
The teaser concludes with a caption hinting at a meaningful reunion: “The girl who was like a spring breeze seven years ago appeared before my eyes again.” With its restrained tone and focus on memory, healing, and coincidence, In Your Radiant Season positions itself as a contemplative romance that explores how past wounds can quietly lead people back to one another.
