Actor Gong Myoung has temporarily suspended filming for his upcoming drama after being hospitalized due to sudden hearing loss. On December 30, Newsis reported that he was diagnosed with sudden sensorineural hearing loss, prompting the cancellation of scheduled filming for tvN’s upcoming drama Secret Audit (working title) on that day.

Sudden sensorineural hearing loss, often referred to as sudden deafness, is a condition marked by an abrupt decrease or loss of hearing over a short period of time, sometimes accompanied by symptoms such as tinnitus or dizziness. The condition typically occurs without clear warning signs or identifiable causes. According to reports, Gong Myoung experienced significant dizziness, leading the production team to halt filming as a precautionary measure.
A source indicated that Gong Myoung is currently focusing on recovery and is expected to resume filming around January 2, depending on his condition. His agency, Saram Entertainment, confirmed the situation, stating that he is receiving treatment while hospitalized and is expected to gradually return to the set later this week if his recovery progresses smoothly.
Secret Audit is a romantic comedy centered on Joo In Ah, portrayed by Shin Hae Sun, a charismatic head of an audit office who harbors a secret, and Noh Ki Joon, played by Gong Myoung, a highly capable auditor who is suddenly reassigned to handling internal scandal investigations. Filming for the drama began in September, and it is scheduled to air on tvN in the first half of next year.
The temporary pause in production reflects a focus on the actor’s health, with both the production team and agency emphasizing flexibility in the filming schedule to ensure Gong Myoung’s full recovery before resuming work.
