As the year draws to a close, IU once again demonstrated her commitment to giving back. On December 31, her agency EDAM Entertainment announced that IU donated a total of 200 million won under the name “IUAENA,” marking the end of the year with meaningful contributions to various social causes.

“IUAENA” combines IU’s name with that of her official fan club, UAENA, symbolizing the shared spirit of generosity between the artist and her fans. The donations will support a wide range of vulnerable groups, including single mothers, youths preparing for independent living, people with disabilities, and elderly individuals facing economic hardship.

The funds were evenly distributed among four organizations, each receiving 50 million won: the Korean Unwed Mothers Families Association, the National Center for the Rights of the Child, the Snail of Love, and the Wooyang Foundation. These contributions will help single mothers overcome financial and social challenges, assist young people transitioning out of foster care, provide cochlear implant surgeries and hearing aids for those with hearing impairments, and offer food support to elderly individuals at risk of hunger during the winter months.

IU is currently filming her upcoming drama Perfect Crown, yet she has consistently maintained her charitable efforts alongside her professional activities. Over the years, she has made regular donations under the “IUAENA” name on significant occasions such as her debut anniversary, birthday, and year-end season.

Throughout 2025, IU’s philanthropic activities have remained steady. In March, she donated 200 million won to support victims of wildfires in the Gyeongsang region and to improve working conditions for firefighters. On Children’s Day, she contributed 150 million won to initiatives supporting children and adolescents. Additionally, both her birthday and debut anniversary were marked by donations of 200 million won each to aid underprivileged communities.

Through these sustained efforts, IU continues to extend her influence beyond music and acting, translating public recognition into tangible social impact. Her approach remains measured and consistent, reinforcing her role not only as a leading artist but also as a figure of lasting positive influence.
