Actor Jo Yoon Woo has shared a major life update, announcing both his upcoming marriage and his decision to retire from acting after a 15-year career.
On January 1, Jo Yoon Woo posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, explaining that he wanted to begin the new year by personally informing fans of an important change in his life.

In his statement, Jo Yoon Woo revealed that he had met someone he wished to spend the rest of his life with. After careful consideration, he decided to step away from acting—something he had devoted himself to since debuting at the age of 21—in order to build a modest and meaningful life together with his partner.
Reflecting on his journey, he described the past 15 years, during which acting was his sole focus, as deeply precious. Precisely because of that significance, he deliberated extensively before coming to his decision. He shared that, for the first time in his life, he now has someone he wants to protect forever, prompting him to choose a new path.

Jo Yoon Woo asked for warm support for his life ahead with his partner of over four years, who is also his closest friend, and extended his wishes for health and happiness to everyone in 2026.
Jo Yoon Woo made his acting debut in 2011 through the drama “Flower Boy Ramyun Shop” and went on to appear in series such as “Dating Agency: Cyrano,” “The Heirs,” “Tomorrow’s Cantabile,” and “Hwarang.” His most recent project was the 2023 drama “Not Others.”
