The television drama Reboot, starring Suzuki Ryohei, has announced its theme song as “Again,” a newly released track by Mr.Children. Alongside the announcement, a promotional video for the series has also been unveiled, further heightening anticipation ahead of its premiere.

Reboot will air in TBS’s prestigious “Sunday Theatre” time slot, a Sunday 9:00 p.m. slot traditionally reserved for large-scale productions featuring high-profile casts. In addition to Suzuki Ryohei in the lead role, Toda Erika appears in a pivotal supporting role, adding further depth to the drama’s central conflict.
The story follows Hayase Riku, an ordinary pastry chef whose life is abruptly overturned. When the body of his wife, Natsumi—missing for two and a half years—is discovered, Riku is arrested based on circumstantial evidence for a crime he did not commit. Forced into a desperate situation, he decides to “reboot” himself, stepping into the role of an investigator in pursuit of the truth to clear his name.
As Riku digs deeper, he uncovers a web of corruption surrounding the case. The investigation is overseen by Gido Ayumi, a senior detective who is secretly involved in bribery and connected to the criminal underworld. Determined to expose the real culprit, Riku confronts both the flawed system and the individuals who manipulate it from within.
The drama features an extensive ensemble cast, including Ren Nagase (King & Prince), Ryoka Fujisawa (Mrs. GREEN APPLE), Kuroki Meisa, Ito Hideaki, Aju Makita, Yukiya Kitamura, Mieko Harada, Kou Yazaki, Yoshi Sakou, Muga Tsukaji, Atsuhiro Tsuda, Daisuke Nakagawa, Tetsuhiro Ikeda, and Haru Fujita, forming a layered narrative with multiple perspectives.
Reboot is scheduled to premiere on January 18, with its first episode running 25 minutes longer than usual. Combining intense suspense with themes of personal reinvention and institutional darkness, the series is positioned as one of TBS’s key dramas of the season.
