Oh Yeon Seo has shared her thoughts on her upcoming romantic comedy “Positively Yours,” offering insight into her character and her on-screen chemistry with co-star Choi Jin Hyuk.
Based on a popular webtoon, “Positively Yours” follows the unexpected consequences of a one-night stand between two people who have both sworn off marriage. Oh Yeon Seo stars as Jang Hui Won, a dedicated workaholic who has never been in a romantic relationship.

Explaining why she chose the project, Oh Yeon Seo cited her trust in director Kim Jin Sung, whom she previously worked with on “The Player 2: Master of Swindlers,” as well as her strong connection to the script. She said she was immediately drawn to Hui Won’s character and felt it would be both enjoyable and meaningful to portray her journey.
Oh Yeon Seo estimated that she shares about 30 percent similarity with her character. While both are serious and committed when it comes to work, she noted that Hui Won’s sincerity, warmth, intelligence, and approachable nature are qualities she personally admires and hopes to learn from.

Regarding her chemistry with Choi Jin Hyuk, who plays company CEO Kang Du Jun, Oh Yeon Seo expressed full confidence, giving their pairing a “100 out of 100.” She described Choi Jin Hyuk as considerate and flexible, adding that their acting teamwork feels natural and comfortable, making filming both smooth and enjoyable.
When asked to highlight memorable early scenes, she pointed to moments where Hui Won confronts her mother and struggles with choosing between her future and her child. Oh Yeon Seo shared that these scenes required deep emotional reflection, as any decision in such a situation would be painful and exhausting, and she hopes viewers will strongly empathize with Hui Won’s dilemma.

Concluding her remarks, Oh Yeon Seo said she hopes “Positively Yours” will bring warmth to viewers during the winter season. With charming characters and a heartfelt love story, she believes the drama will be an engaging and comforting watch.
“Positively Yours” premieres on January 17 at 10:30 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki.
