Actor Cho Han Gyul has shared his thoughts on the upcoming drama Undercover Miss Hong, offering insight into both the project and the character he brings to life.

Set in the late 1990s, Undercover Miss Hong is a workplace comedy starring Park Shin Hye as Hong Geum Bo, an elite financial supervisory officer in her 30s. To investigate suspicious financial transactions, she goes undercover as a 20-year-old entry-level employee at a securities firm, navigating corporate politics and hidden agendas in a distinctly retro office environment.

Cho Han Gyul plays Albert Oh, the maternal grandson of the chairman of Hanmin Securities and a devoted film enthusiast. He enters the company through a so-called “golden parachute,” instantly standing out as a privileged newcomer whose background draws attention before his abilities are fully understood.

Reflecting on his first impression of the script, Cho Han Gyul said that it was easy to read and genuinely enjoyable from the very beginning. He noted that the late-1990s office setting felt particularly engaging, lending the story both character and atmosphere.

Cho Han Gyul also spoke warmly about working with the cast. As the youngest actor on set, he felt well supported by his senior colleagues, which created a strong sense of teamwork and allowed him to complete filming in a positive and relaxed environment.

When describing Albert Oh, Cho Han Gyul emphasized the character’s layered nature. While Albert may initially appear carefree and spoiled, he is actually intelligent, emotionally perceptive, and naturally composed. His unexpected ability to connect comfortably with older colleagues adds another dimension to his personality, making him more than a typical “chaebol heir” archetype. Cho Han Gyul expressed hope that viewers would grow fond of Albert as the story unfolds.

Undercover Miss Hong is scheduled to premiere on January 17 at 9:10 p.m. KST.
