The modern romance drama Shine On Me starring Song Weilong and Zhao Jinmai, was one of China’s most talked-about series from late last year into early this year. On the 18th, the production team held a wrap party at a wedding-style venue, transforming the celebration into what felt like a real-life extension of the drama’s wedding scenes and delighting fans with its thoughtful “after-sales” content.

The event was themed around the popular couple slogan “Xin You Lin Xi,” with a custom backdrop and seating areas inspired by the drama’s key location, the “Liuguang Forest.” Tables were decorated with personalized cards printed with Lin Yusen’s iconic confession line to Nie Xiguang, “I’ll let you choose,” underscoring the production’s attention to detail and earning praise from viewers.

During the celebration, Song Weilong appeared visibly emotional while interacting with Zhao Jinmai, with footage showing his eyes welling up quickly going viral. The related topic surpassed 200 million views in a single day, prompting widespread discussion. Many fans interpreted his reaction as a sign of lingering attachment to his character and the story rather than a spontaneous emotional moment.

Actor Lin Yilun, who played Nie Xiguang’s uncle in the series, also drew attention. In the drama, his character jokingly acts as a “fan site master,” secretly taking photos of the leads at gatherings. Bringing this role into reality, Lin Yilun shared behind-the-scenes photos from the wrap party on social media, humorously declaring that he was once again on duty as the couple’s “station master,” and expressing his affection for both the on-screen pairing and the drama’s cast as a whole.

By blending narrative symbolism with real-life celebration, the wrap party for “As Bright as the Sun” extended the emotional resonance of the series beyond its final episode, allowing fans to continue savoring the warmth and chemistry that made the drama so memorable.
