JTBC’s upcoming drama We Are All Trying Here has revealed its first official poster, offering an evocative glimpse into the emotional tension at the heart of the series. The drama was introduced on January 21 during Netflix’s “Next on Netflix 2026 Korea” event in Seoul, where the platform presented its upcoming Korean content lineup and highlighted several highly anticipated titles, including this JTBC production.

We Are All Trying Here centers on a man consumed by jealousy and envy, who struggles to maintain his inner balance as he spirals alone in a world that seems to reward everyone else. Rather than focusing on overt competition or success, the drama turns its gaze inward, tracing the quiet despair and fragile hopes of individuals who feel left behind yet continue to endure.

The series also marks the return of acclaimed writer Park Hae Young, known for her introspective storytelling in My Mister and My Liberation Notes. Once again, she delves into the subtle emotional landscapes of ordinary people, exploring how unspoken wounds and restrained emotions shape human relationships.

Koo Kyo Hwan stars as Hwang Dong Man, an aspiring film director who has yet to make his official debut. He is the lone outsider among “The Eight,” a celebrated group within the film industry. Like an uninvited guest who never quite belongs, Dong Man hovers at the margins, clinging on through nervous chatter and exaggerated bravado that barely conceal his deep-seated anxiety and sense of inadequacy.

Go Youn Jung plays Byun Eun Ah, a producer at Choi Film known by the nickname “The Ax” for her piercing and uncompromising script evaluations. Eun Ah strives to stay composed and emotionally balanced, but beneath her calm exterior lies unresolved trauma. When her emotions overwhelm her, she suffers from sudden nosebleeds, a physical manifestation of her inner turmoil. Through her encounters with Dong Man—someone who appears unsuccessful by society’s standards yet possesses an unexpected inner strength—Eun Ah gradually confronts her own pain. At the same time, she helps transform Dong Man’s crippling sense of worthlessness into something quietly luminous.

The newly released poster captures Hwang Dong Man and Byun Eun Ah standing face to face on a dimly lit street at night, their eyes locked in a gaze filled with tension, curiosity, and unspoken emotion. The stillness of the scene hints at a connection formed not through grand gestures, but through shared vulnerability.

We Are All Trying Here is scheduled to premiere in the second quarter of 2026, positioning itself as a contemplative addition to the upcoming K-drama landscape.
