Netflix’s upcoming drama “Dead-End Job” has unveiled its first details as part of the platform’s 2026 Korean content lineup. The series was introduced on January 21 during the “Next on Netflix 2026 Korea” event held in Seoul, where it stood out for its dark and unconventional premise.
Blending mystery, horror, and fantasy, “Dead-End Job” centers on Hyuk Jun, a man pushed to the brink by mounting debt and financial pressure. His situation takes an unexpected turn when he encounters a mysterious employment agency called Spyder Human Resource Center, which promises “perfect” part-time jobs paying 50 times the standard hourly wage. What initially appears to be a rare opportunity soon descends into a terrifying and inescapable ordeal.
Lee Jae Wook stars as Hyuk Jun, a character who accepts the lucrative offer in hopes of resolving his financial troubles. Once on the job, however, he begins to experience a series of disturbing and inexplicable events. As the line between reality and nightmare blurs, Hyuk Jun is forced to confront the unsettling truth behind the workplace he has entered.
Using the allure of extreme pay as its narrative hook, “Dead-End Job” explores themes of desperation, temptation, and fear within a heightened, supernatural framework. According to Netflix, the drama is scheduled to premiere in the fourth quarter of this year.
