Netflix has unveiled the first details of its upcoming drama “If Wishes Could Kill,” marking the platform’s first Korean young adult horror series. The show is scheduled to premiere in the second quarter of 2026 and brings a chilling twist to the familiar high school setting.
The series follows a group of teenagers who discover that they are destined to die after being cursed by a mysterious wish-granting app called “GIRIGO.” As they race against time to escape their grim fate, the students begin to uncover the sinister truth behind the app, realizing that every fulfilled wish comes at a devastating cost.

Jeon So Young stars as Se Ah, a talented and promising track-and-field athlete whose life takes a drastic turn after becoming entangled with the app. Kang Mina plays Na Ri, Se Ah’s beautiful and popular best friend, while Baek Sun Ho portrays Geon Woo, Se Ah’s boyfriend, adding emotional depth to the story’s central conflict.
The cast also includes Hyun Woo Seok as Ha Joon, the group’s sharp-minded strategist, and Lee Hyo Je as Hyeong Wook, a student whose wish unexpectedly comes true through GIRIGO—an event that serves as a crucial clue to the app’s dark mechanics.
By combining teenage anxieties with supernatural horror, “If Wishes Could Kill” explores themes of desire, consequence, and survival. With its suspense-driven narrative and youthful cast, the series is poised to become a notable addition to Netflix’s expanding slate of Korean originals.
