SBS’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama Phantom Lawyer has released its first stills featuring Esom in character, offering an early look at her role.
Phantom Lawyer is a legal drama that blends quirky fantasy elements with warmth, following Shin Yi Rang, portrayed by Yoo Yeon Seok, a lawyer who can see ghosts, and elite attorney Han Na Hyun, played by Esom. Together, they work to resolve the unresolved grievances of their unusual clients—ghosts—through legal means.

Esom takes on the role of Han Na Hyun, an elite attorney at Taebaek Law Firm, one of the most prestigious law firms in Seoul’s Seocho District. Known for her flawless record, she maintains a perfect 100 percent win rate and approaches every case with unwavering confidence.
In the newly revealed stills, Han Na Hyun immediately commands attention with her sharply tailored black suit and composed gaze. The combination of her long black hair and monochrome styling reflects her calm and restrained personality, projecting the presence of a highly skilled lawyer even in stillness. Guided strictly by logic, she prioritizes efficiency above all else and believes that every case must end in victory.
Beneath her seemingly perfect exterior, however, Han Na Hyun carries deep wounds from her past. The painful memories she has long sealed behind a cold façade slowly begin to surface. Through her encounters with Shin Yi Rang, who values people’s stories and approaches others with trust, a different side of her gradually comes into view. After Yi Rang unexpectedly steps into the supernatural realm, the choices and attitude shown by the rational Han Na Hyun become a key point of interest.
The production team shared that Han Na Hyun is a character who places logic and results above all else. Her clashes and occasional cooperation with the “possessed” Shin Yi Rang add tension and depth to the story. They added that Esom convincingly captures every aspect of the character, from her cold charisma to subtle emotional shifts.
Phantom Lawyer is scheduled to premiere on March 13 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
