SBS’s upcoming Friday–Saturday drama Phantom Lawyer has released its first character stills of Kim Kyung Nam, offering a glimpse into his transformation for the new series.
Phantom Lawyer is a legal drama with a unique blend of fantasy and warmth. The story follows Shin Yi Rang, a lawyer who can see ghosts, and elite attorney Han Na Hyun as they resolve unresolved grievances of their unusual clients—ghosts—through the law.

Kim Kyung Nam portrays Yang Do Kyung, the CEO of Taebaek Law Firm and the son of its de facto owner. Adept at deception and hypocrisy, Yang Do Kyung is a character willing to make any decision necessary to protect what belongs to him, constantly working to maintain his control over the firm.
In the newly released stills, Yang Do Kyung is seen standing back with his arms crossed, observing the situation with a composed and distant gaze. His calm expression and restrained demeanor suggest a cold personality, while hinting at a hidden side beneath his polished appearance.
To Yang Do Kyung, Taebaek Law Firm is a fortress that must be protected at all costs. The only person he truly trusts is Han Na Hyun, whom he views as both his strongest partner and closest ally due to her relentless pursuit of victory.
The balance begins to shift with the arrival of rookie lawyer Shin Yi Rang. After unexpectedly winning against Taebaek and influencing Han Na Hyun to make different choices, cracks start to form in Yang Do Kyung’s carefully maintained world. Through these cracks, his true nature is expected to gradually emerge.
The production team commented that while Yang Do Kyung appears calm on the surface, he harbors intense ambition beneath. They added that Kim Kyung Nam heightens the tension of the drama by subtly expressing the character’s coldness through restrained performances. Phantom Lawyer is scheduled to premiere on March 13 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
