Actor Kim Jung-hyun has shared new insights into his character and on-screen chemistry in tvN’s upcoming romance thriller Siren’s Kiss.
“Siren’s Kiss” tells the story of a man investigating an insurance fraud case tied to a string of mysterious deaths—each victim having fallen in love with the same irresistibly captivating woman. Wi Ha-joon stars as Cha Woo Seok, the determined inspector chasing the truth, while Park Min-young plays Han Seol Ah, the chief auctioneer suspected of standing at the center of the tragedy.

Kim Jung Hyun takes on the role of Baek Joon Beom, an enigmatic startup CEO whose identity remains largely hidden beyond his name and profession. After purchasing high-priced artwork through Royal Auction—the country’s top auction house—he becomes a VIP client and draws close to Han Seol Ah, openly expressing his interest in her.
Explaining why he chose the project, Kim Jung Hyun revealed, “I was drawn to Baek Joon Beom’s mysterious and goal-oriented nature. While reading the script, I felt a strong pull toward his emotional complexity, and I worked hard to convey that to viewers.”

Describing the character in greater depth, he noted that Baek Joon Beom’s tone and demeanor shift dramatically depending on the situation. “Sometimes he treats others almost like objects. Other times, he can be surprisingly warm. I tried to capture that sharp contrast in emotional temperature based on the circumstances,” he shared. For Kim Jung Hyun, the key to portraying Baek Joon Beom was clarity of purpose: “He has a very clear goal, and I focused entirely on that objective while acting.”
When asked about his character’s dynamic with Han Seol Ah, Kim Jung Hyun offered a striking metaphor: “Han Seol Ah is the sun, and Baek Joon Beom is Icarus.” The comparison suggests a relationship defined by dangerous attraction—brilliant, consuming, and potentially destructive. He further described Baek Joon Beom’s approach to Han Seol Ah as a “cold obsession,” hinting at a love that may blur the line between devotion and peril.

Blending romance with psychological tension, “Siren’s Kiss” promises a story where desire, suspicion, and ambition collide. The drama premieres on March 2 at 8:50 p.m. KST.
