SBS’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama Phantom Lawyer has revealed character details of Yoo Yeon Seok.
The series blends legal storytelling with fantasy elements and follows Shin I Rang (Yoo Yeon Seok), a lawyer who can see ghosts, and elite attorney Han Na Hyun (Esom) as they resolve the lingering grievances of their unusual clients—ghosts—through the law.

The drama expands on the traditional hero narrative. Shin I Rang does not choose his ability; he begins seeing ghosts against his will and hearing their unresolved stories. The unexpected power alters his life and becomes a responsibility he must accept.
Yoo Yeon Seok portrays Shin I Rang as someone who refuses to retreat in unpredictable situations and does not turn away from clients burdened with painful stories. At the same time, his panic and fear after suddenly gaining the ability to see ghosts add comedic undertones to the story. Incidents caused by ghost possessions are expected to bring lively and humorous moments to the drama.

Despite struggling with an ability he never sought, Shin I Rang demonstrates sharp insight and logic during crucial trials, reversing unfavorable situations. His character shifts between seriousness and clumsiness, presenting the rise of a different kind of hero.
The production team stated that the drama combines SBS’s experience in legal series with fantasy elements, delivering satisfying twists while conveying a message that speaks for those who feel wronged.
“Phantom Lawyer” will premiere on March 13 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
