A photography exhibition connected to Cha Eun Woo has recently drawn attention after reports emerged about its scheduled opening in Japan. On March 16, media outlets reported that the exhibition titled Afterimage will be held in Ginza, Tokyo, from March 28 to May 12.

Following the report, Cha Eun Woo’s agency Fantagio issued a short statement clarifying the background of the project. According to the agency, the exhibition had already been arranged well in advance. Fantagio explained that the contract for Afterimage was signed in August 2024, and the event is proceeding according to the schedule agreed upon at that time.

Although the exhibition is moving forward as planned, Cha Eun Woo himself will not attend the event. The actor and singer is currently fulfilling his mandatory military service, which prevents him from participating in the exhibition in person. As a result, the project will take place without his direct appearance during the exhibition period.

The news about Afterimage has attracted additional attention because it comes not long after a previous report involving Cha Eun Woo earlier this year. On January 22, it was reported that the artist had been investigated in the previous year by Investigation Bureau 4 of the Seoul Regional Tax Office over suspicions of tax evasion. According to those reports, the National Tax Service notified Cha Eun Woo of an additional tax assessment exceeding 20 billion won.

Shortly afterward, on January 26, Cha Eun Woo addressed the issue through his personal social media account, where he publicly apologized regarding the matter. While the situation had already been discussed earlier in the year, the announcement of the Afterimage exhibition has once again brought attention to Cha Eun Woo’s recent activities and ongoing projects.

Despite his current military service, the upcoming exhibition Afterimage reflects another aspect of Cha Eun Woo’s creative work, highlighting his interest in photography alongside his activities in music and acting.
