Actors Ryu Jun Yeol and Hong Kyung are reportedly in discussions to headline a new Netflix drama tentatively titled Outback, drawing attention to a potential first collaboration between the two.
On April 13, reports emerged that Ryu Jun Yeol had been offered the role of Hans, a central character in the series. The following day, Hong Kyung was also said to have received a casting offer for the project. In response, both actors’ agencies clarified that the drama is currently under consideration and that no final decisions have been made.

Outback, based on a popular webtoon, follows the story of Si On, a character who travels to Australia in search of his older sister. Along the way, he becomes entangled with a mysterious man named Hans, setting the stage for a narrative that blends personal journey with suspense and hidden truths.
If both actors ultimately join the project, the drama would mark their first on-screen collaboration. The pairing has already generated interest, given their distinct acting styles and previous body of work.
Ryu Jun Yeol is currently preparing for the release of his upcoming Netflix series Mousetrap, scheduled for the second half of the year. Meanwhile, Hong Kyung has been reviewing new projects following his recent film appearances, including Good News and Concrete Market.
As discussions continue, industry attention remains focused on whether the two actors will officially confirm their participation and bring this webtoon-based story to the screen together.
