The Chinese drama Zhen Song (《侦宋》) has officially announced its release schedule, beginning April 14, 2026. Blending time-travel elements with crime investigation, the series presents a fast-paced narrative centered on identity, mystery, and forensic reasoning.

The story follows Liu Chuan, played by Jing Yanjun, a modern-day forensic expert who unexpectedly travels back in time. Upon arrival, he discovers that a murder victim shares his exact appearance, leading him to assume the identity of the deceased. However, this decision entangles him in unforeseen complications, including a pre-arranged marriage to Qiu Yue, the daughter of a local magistrate, portrayed by Cui Baoyue.
As Liu Chuan becomes increasingly involved in a series of violent cases unfolding in Ying Tian Prefecture, his modern forensic knowledge sets him apart. Navigating a historical environment marked by uncertainty and danger, he applies investigative techniques unfamiliar to the time, gradually solving complex cases while uncovering deeper conspiracies.
In terms of release strategy, Zhen Song adopts a rapid update model for subscribers. Members will receive 12 episodes on the first day at 12:00 p.m., followed by four new episodes daily, with the finale scheduled for April 17.

For non-subscribers, the rollout is more gradual. The first episode will be available on April 14 at 12:00 p.m., with subsequent episodes releasing in batches of two every Tuesday and Wednesday starting April 21, within limited viewing windows. The final episode for non-members is expected to air on May 20.
With its combination of historical setting and investigative storytelling, Zhen Song positions itself within a hybrid genre that continues to attract audiences seeking both suspense and novelty.
