The 29th Asian Television Awards (ATA) have recognized two remarkable series, ‘Queen of Tears’ and ‘A Bloody Lucky Day,’ with nominations in prestigious categories. Achievements of ‘Queen of Tears’

‘Queen of Tears,’ featuring acclaimed actors Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won, has garnered nominations for best scriptwriting. The series, scripted by the renowned Park Ji Eun of ‘Crash Landing on You’ fame, captivated audiences, achieving a remarkable viewership rating of 24.9 percent for its finale. This impressive feat made it the highest-rated series on tvN. Furthermore, it scored tremendous success on streaming platforms like Netflix, amassing 29 million views and a staggering 682.6 million viewing hours within just the first half of the year.

Innovative Storytelling in ‘A Bloody Lucky Day’

Meanwhile, ‘A Bloody Lucky Day,’ starring Yoo Yeon Seok, Lee Sung Min, and Lee Jung Eun, is competing for the best cinematography award. The series is notable for its cutting-edge production techniques, utilizing virtual production technology in the CJ ENM studio center, allowing for striking computer-generated environments. Both series were also recognized as national winners at the 2024 Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA), further solidifying their place in the pantheon of contemporary Asian media.
