Located on the scenic hills of the Noto Peninsula, the Senmaida rice terraces are a breathtaking visual feast throughout the year. Designated as a national scenic spot, these terraces feature 1,004 unique rice paddies that showcase traditional cultivation methods passed down through generations. Whether you choose to visit in spring, summer, autumn, or winter, Senmaida offers stunning views from every angle, making it a must-see destination.

How to Get to Senmaida Rice Terraces 白米千枚田

The best way to experience the Senmaida rice terraces is by car. This allows you to appreciate the gorgeous landscapes along the way. While there are express bus services available from Kanazawa station, they often require transfers and run infrequently. To avoid the crowd, especially during peak seasons, it’s wise to arrive early as the large parking area beside the terraces can fill up quickly.

Night Views and Surrounding Attractions

The enchanting night views of the Senmaida rice terraces are a highlight from mid-October to mid-March. During this time, volunteers decorate the area with LED lights that change colors every 15 minutes, creating a magical atmosphere that shouldn’t be missed. Additionally, while exploring the Noto Peninsula, take the opportunity to visit nearby attractions along National Route 249, such as the stunning coastal village of Wajima, further enhancing the charm of your visit.
