Major Cast Confirmed for ‘The Tyrant’s Chef’

tvN’s upcoming drama titled “The Tyrant’s Chef,” directed by the acclaimed Jang Tae Yoo, has finalized an impressive cast. The network announced on January 24 that popular artists, including Girls’ Generation’s Yoona, Lee Chae Min, Kang Han Na, and Choi Gwi Hwa, will take on pivotal roles in this highly anticipated series.

A Glimpse into the Plot

The drama presents a unique fantasy romance narrative focused on an ambitious chef named Yeon Ji Young, portrayed by Yoona. Her character is a cheerful chef who has achieved the remarkable feat of becoming the head chef of a Michelin 3-star restaurant in Paris. However, on the day she secures a prestigious culinary accolade, she mysteriously travels back to the Joseon era, where she encounters a tyrant king, Lee Heon, played by Lee Chae Min. This king possesses a highly refined palate, which adds tension and excitement to their culinary interactions.

Supporting Characters and Anticipated Drama

The cast also includes Kang Han Na as Kang Mok Joo, a cunning concubine harboring ambitions that may disrupt palace peace. Additionally, Choi Gwi Hwa takes on the role of Prince Je San, the tyrant king’s formidable rival, whose ruthless pursuit of power intensifies the plot. While originally cast, Park Sung Hoon withdrew due to controversy, allowing Lee Chae Min to step forward into this major role.

As fans eagerly await “The Tyrant’s Chef,” set to premiere in the second half of 2025, the unique blend of culinary excellence and historical drama promises to provide viewers with an enthralling experience.
