A Boeing 747 Transformed

In the heart of Bangkok’s Lat Krabang district, aviation enthusiasts have a unique treat. A retired Boeing 747, once the world’s largest passenger airplane, has been creatively transformed into a vibrant café. This astonishing establishment offers visitors not just a great selection of drinks and snacks, but also a taste of what it’s like to pilot a Boeing 747. Originally launched into the skies in 1988, this 71-meter-long aircraft embodies a rich history and a new purpose.

A Journey Through Time

Previously owned by Orient Thai, this 747 was abandoned at Suvarnabhumi Airport after the airline ceased operations in 2018. Recognizing its potential, owners Lawanrattanakul and Nithiroj Chawalertwattanachai, both passionate about aviation, meticulously relocated and refurbished the aircraft. Following its dismantling into eight parts for transport, the spacious interior was updated to create a welcoming café atmosphere, complete with a cozy bar and seating areas.

Take the Controls

The highlight of this remarkable café is undoubtedly the cockpit experience, where visitors can step into the role of a pilot. Equipped with a state-of-the-art flight simulator, guests can practice takeoffs, landings, and adjustments in altitude and speed, just like real pilots do. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, every participant is ensured a safe and exhilarating adventure in the skies. Travel blogger Ryan Nguyen notes that this Boeing 747 experience has become quite popular among Vietnamese tourists, showcasing the fusion of aviation and culinary delights.
