Overview of the Event
The Seoul International Drama Awards 2024 saw a remarkable gathering of talent in the heart of South Korea on September 25. Notable Winners of the Evening
Among the night’s standout moments, director Park Chan Wook was honored with the prestigious Golden Bird Prize in the International Invitation category for his exceptional HBO series “The Sympathizer.” The Asia Star Awards were also awarded to “Lovely Runner” cast members Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon, recognizing their significant contributions to the industry. In the highly competitive international competition category, “Korea-Khitan War” took home the award for Best Series, while “O’pening: Bruised Like a Peach” was named Best TV Movie.
Recognition for Korean Dramas
This year’s event also highlighted outstanding achievements in Korean dramas. “Moving” and “Queen of Tears” were awarded Outstanding Korean Drama, underscoring their impact on audiences. Ahn Jae Hong received the Best Actor award for his role in “Mask Girl,” while Yeom Hye Ran was recognized as Best Actress for her performance in the same series. Additionally, the Outstanding Korean Drama OST award was given to Seventeen’s BSS for “The Reasons of My Smiles” from “Queen of Tears.” This ceremony not only honored individual talents but emphasized the overall excellence of Korean drama on both national and international stages.
