Kim Ji Soo’s Return to Acting

This year marked a significant milestone for South Korean actor Kim Ji Soo, who made his official comeback in the Philippines after signing with the local talent agency, Sparkle. The 31-year-old performer has already appeared in several local shows, showcasing his talent and adaptability in a new cultural landscape.

A Journey Through Challenges

In an engaging interview on the renowned Filipino talk show, Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Ji Soo reflected on his early experiences in the Korean entertainment industry. At the young age of 19, he trained at JYP Entertainment, honing his skills in acting, singing, and dance. It was a rigorous journey filled with auditions and challenges, culminating in his first role at 22 in the 2015 K-drama, Angry Mom. Despite enjoying his career, Ji Soo acknowledged the pressure and difficulties that accompany such a competitive industry.

A New Chapter in the Philippines

During his interview, Ji Soo expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to restart his career in the Philippines. He emphasized his love for the culture, having previously hosted a fan meeting, which left a lasting impression on him. Contrary to his earlier career setbacks in South Korea due to serious bullying allegations, Ji Soo is now focusing on a fresher, positive trajectory. He is currently starring as a doctor in the Philippine afternoon drama, Abot Kamay ng Pangarap, and is also set to appear in the upcoming film Mujigae on October 9, 2024.
