Sales Figures and Historical Context

Recorded sales of 20,000 copies within the past week have brought the total sales of “Lost Corner” to an impressive 515,000 copies. This achievement is particularly notable as it marks the first time in over four years that a solo artist has surpassed the 500,000 copies sales threshold since Kazumasa Oda’s “Ano Hi Ano Toki” was released in April 2016. Kenshi’s accomplishment positions him as a significant figure in contemporary Japanese music.

A Milestone in the Reiwa Era

Moreover, “Lost Corner” is the third album to achieve this level of cumulative sales during the Reiwa era, showcasing the evolving landscape of the Japanese music industry. Yonezu Kenshi’s groundbreaking achievement as the first solo artist with two albums exceeding 500,000 copies sold further solidifies his status as a leading artist of his generation. His contributions to music continue to resonate with fans and critics alike, marking him as a trailblazer in the industry.
