The upcoming TV Asahi series Chotto dake Esper has just revealed a new addition to its cast — actor and musician Dean Fujioka will join Oizumi Yo in this offbeat science fiction drama, set to premiere on October 21, airing every Tuesday at 9 PM.
The story centers on Bunta, played by Oizumi Yo, an ordinary salaryman whose life suddenly collapses. After being fired, he loses his home, family, and savings, ending up alone and forced to sleep in an internet café. Just when things seem hopeless, Bunta receives an unexpected interview invitation from a mysterious company named Nonamare.
Surprisingly, Bunta passes the interview and is hired—only to discover that the job is to save the world as a so-called “Just a Little Esper.” The company not only gives him a position but also provides him with a house and a wife — Shiki, a strange woman with whom Bunta must now build a new life.
Actress Miyazaki Aoi plays the enigmatic Shiki, while Dean Fujioka takes on the role of Osuke, Bunta’s cheerful and slightly goofy friend who works as a florist. Osuke has the mysterious ability to make flowers bloom from even the tiniest buds, adding a whimsical element to this already quirky tale.
With a blend of sci-fi, comedy, and heartfelt human drama, Chotto dake Esper promises a refreshing and surreal ride. As the show’s premiere approaches, anticipation is building for what could be one of the most unique dramas of the season.
