At 9:42 AM on September 8, Chinese actress Xu Lisha took to Weibo once again, announcing that she has filed a police report and officially initiated legal proceedings against actor Xu Kai. After nearly half a month of silence, Xu stated she could no longer bear the ongoing cyberbullying. “I’ve stayed quiet long enough and gave him a chance to apologize,” she wrote. “From this point on, everything that happens is Xu Kai’s own choice. I never wanted money — all I ever wanted was a simple apology.”

Shortly after posting, Xu Lisha also reposted a message from entertainment blogger “会拍摄的百晓生” (“Baixiaosheng Who Films”), who had shared updates at 9:38 AM the same morning.

Background of the Dispute

The controversy began on August 22, when rumors about Xu Kai’s alleged new relationship went viral on Chinese social media. Hashtags like “Xu Kai New Romance” and “Xu Kai Xu Lisha” quickly trended on Weibo, sparking widespread speculation.

In response, producer Yu Zheng stepped in to clarify. He stated in a comment that “Mr. Xu Kai is currently single,” and added that the circulated chat logs were fabricated. Yu explained that Xu Kai and Xu Lisha only had brief professional contact in 2021 during filming and had since cut all ties. His team had already reported the matter to the police and was collecting evidence across platforms regarding accounts spreading false information.

However, Xu Lisha responded publicly, posting multiple Weibo entries containing what appeared to be chat logs with Xu Kai. She addressed Yu Zheng directly: “From now on, every word I say is true. But I’m worried Kai Kai might not be able to handle it.” She emphasized that she is not Xu Kai’s current girlfriend, and that they broke up at the end of 2022 after he was allegedly photographed leaving a hotel with a woman named Zhao Qing.

Latest Developments

Xu Lisha has now made it clear that she is taking legal action, sharing an image of the official police receipt. She explained that the delay in further statements was because she had “given him the chance to apologize.” Her goal remains the same: not financial compensation, but a public apology.

As of now, Xu Kai has not responded publicly to the latest development. The story continues to unfold, with growing attention from netizens and media alike.
