Plot: A Gruesome Puzzle Spanning Two Nations

The story kicks off in Tokyo, where a horrifyingly twisted corpse is found, alongside a blood-written message in Korean—sending shockwaves through the nation. Just as investigators begin to piece things together, another body turns up in Korea, this time with a message in Japanese.

What begins as two isolated incidents soon unravels into a disturbing pattern of serial murders. As the killings span both Korea and Japan, the governments launch a rare joint investigation, led by two detectives who must overcome national, cultural, and personal divides to stop a chilling spree.

Cast and Characters

  • Son Suk Ku (D.P., My Liberation Notes) stars as the lead Korean detective tasked with uncovering the killer’s trail.

  • Nagayama Eita (We Made a Beautiful Bouquet, Quartet) plays the Japanese detective, bringing his own edge to the cross-border partnership.

  • Kim Shin Rok portrays a Korean-Japanese businesswoman who becomes a key player in the investigation.

  • Choi Sung Eun, known for her intense roles, takes on the part of a government agent with a different perspective—and possibly her own agenda.

  • Jung Jae Young adds intrigue as a mysterious figure whose identity and motives remain unknown.

Behind the Scenes: A Proven Creative Team

Helming the project is acclaimed director Han Jun Hee, whose work includes the hit Netflix series D.P., the gritty film Coin Locker Girl, and the creation of Weak Hero Class—known for its sharp storytelling and emotional depth.

With such a powerhouse team and high-stakes premise, Road is poised to be one of Netflix’s most talked-about thrillers upon release.

Stay tuned for more updates, including teaser trailers and release dates, as production progresses.
