Singer and actress Suzuki Airi will make her big-screen leading debut in the upcoming film “Tadaima tte Ieru Basho”, set for release on January 23, 2026.
The film tells the story of two women — one, a middle-aged junior high school teacher who still lives with her parents and struggles to truly “grow up,” and the other, a high school girl who has stopped attending school. Their unexpected connection through social media helps both confront their own insecurities and search for where they truly belong.

The supporting cast includes Kawaguchi Mana, Otsuki Nene, and Ito Ayumi.
Synopsis:
Asai Eriko (Suzuki Airi) is a junior high school teacher going through her own late-stage “rebellious phase.” One day, she posts online about her love for BL (boys’ love) manga and meets a girl named “Chi” through social media. Unbeknownst to her, “Chi” is actually Tsukioka Chika (Kawaguchi Mana), a bright and popular student at the very school where Eriko teaches — though Chika has recently stopped coming to class for reasons she keeps hidden.
Online, the two bond deeply, unaware of each other’s real identities. They become confidants, able to express their truest feelings in ways they can’t in real life. As they each attempt to step out of their comfort zones — confronting their parents, their fears, and the world around them — painful truths about Chika’s absence from school and Eriko’s own unresolved past begin to surface. These revelations ultimately set off a quiet yet powerful chain of changes neither could have foreseen.
Tadaima tte Ieru Basho promises a gentle, introspective look at loneliness, healing, and human connection in the digital age — anchored by Suzuki Airi’s emotionally rich first leading performance on the big screen.
