Yamada Yuki Leads Star-Studded Cast in Samurai Drama Chiruran Shinsengumi Requiem

TBS, U-NEXT, and THE SEVEN are teaming up for the ambitious live-action adaptation of the manga Chiruran Shinsengumi Requiem, set to premiere with a special episode on TBS in Spring 2026 and a full-length series exclusively on U-NEXT. The drama stars Yamada Yuki as Hijikata Toshizo, chronicling his journey from a rural youth to the fearsome vice-commander of the Shinsengumi during the final days of the Edo period.

The series blends historical facts with bold creative interpretation, highlighting the intense, often deadly lives of the Shinsengumi, alongside their bonds of friendship, loyalty, and betrayal. The ensemble cast includes Okuno Eita, Takahashi Mitsuomi, Kaneko Nobuaki, Ando Masanobu, Sakurai Yuki, Ayano Go, Suzuki Nobuyuki, Nakamura Aoi, Hosoda Kanata, Uesugi Shuhei, Fujiwara Kisetsu, Sugino Yosuke, Yanagi Shuntaro, Miyazaki Akito, and Iwanaga Hihio, promising a powerhouse lineup of performances.
