Miyadate Ryota of Snow Man takes the lead in the upcoming science fiction romantic comedy series “Terminator to Koishichattara,” produced by TV Asahi. Actress Usuda Asami stars as the female protagonist.

Blending futuristic elements with workplace romance and humor, the drama unfolds from an unexpected incident in a darkened apartment building where a distortion in space-time occurs. From 400 years in the future, an android known as AT800 is sent back in time and assumes the identity of Tokizawa Eta, portrayed by Miyadate. Programmed with a single mission, Eta must protect Kamio Kurumi, played by Usuda, who has become the target of an unknown threat.

Kurumi works as an editor for a shojo manga magazine. Previously a reporter for a weekly publication, she achieved professional recognition and even received an award for her contributions. However, an abrupt departmental transfer leaves her struggling in an unfamiliar environment. As mistakes accumulate, she grows increasingly frustrated and disheartened.

After closely monitoring and analyzing Kurumi’s situation, Eta integrates himself into her life by appearing as a new part-time staff member in her editorial department. His rigid logic, literal speech, and socially awkward behavior leave Kurumi bewildered. When she inadvertently triggers a crisis, Eta rushes in to rescue her—often in ways that are excessively dramatic and far from ordinary.

“Terminator to Koishichattara” premieres on April 4 and airs every Saturday at 11:00 p.m. as part of TV Asahi’s “Oshidora Saturday” programming block.
