The upcoming drama “Saint Love Survivors,” starring Ishii Anna with Ueda Tatsuya in a pivotal role, has officially announced its main cast and broadcast schedule. The series is adapted from the manga by Hiura Satoru, a creator known for works that explore the emotional lives of modern women, several of which—including “Hotaru no Hikari” and “Saionji-san wa Kaji wo Shinai”—have previously received successful live-action versions.

The story follows Aizawa Haru, who leaves her stable job to pursue a career as a freelance writer. Her long-held admiration for Oji Kazuhiro, the bassist of the well-known band Suffragette City, eventually leads to a real encounter, and after a series of events, Oji proposes and the two get married. However, on their wedding day, Oji makes an unexpected declaration: “Even though we’re married, we won’t be intimate at all, okay?” The statement throws Haru into confusion and anxiety, forcing her to confront the reality of a marriage that is not just low on intimacy, but entirely devoid of it.
The drama blends humor with candid emotional insight as it follows the couple navigating their newlywed life. Through misunderstandings, attempts at communication and emotional recalibration, the narrative examines the complexities of marital expectations and asks whether a relationship can thrive without physical closeness. With its modern perspective and relatable conflicts, the series aims to spark reflection on the many forms that partnership can take.
“Saint Love Survivors” is scheduled to air weekly starting June 7, 2026.
