The joint visual and trailer for the film Last Man – FIRST LOVE and the completely new special drama Last Man: The Blind Investigator – FAKE/TRUTH have been officially released, drawing strong anticipation for this dual-project collaboration.

The original drama Last Man: The Blind Investigator, broadcast in April 2023, starred Masaharu Fukuyama as the blind FBI investigator Hiromi Minami, partnered with Yo Oizumi as the solitary detective Shintaro Godo. Together, the duo tackled a series of difficult cases. In the latter half of the drama, their long-hidden connection was revealed, culminating in the shocking discovery that they are in fact biological brothers. With their bond strengthened, the duo returns this winter to face the most formidable cases in both the new film and the special drama.
The newly released visual features both works side by side, showcasing their subtitles, guest actors, and returning cast members.
The special drama centers on an unprecedented bomb terrorism case demanding a staggering ransom of 10 billion USD. Meanwhile, the film follows a case involving Minami’s former lover—an engineering prodigy pursued by forces around the world. Both stories present high-stakes incidents that strike consecutively at the invincible duo. Viewers may choose to watch the film first and then explore the hidden truth in the special drama, or start with the drama and follow the unfolding fate through the film. Experiencing both works enriches the narrative immersion.
The trailer features not only the main duo but also the returning “Last Man team” from the drama series. Guest cast for the special drama includes Wakana Matsumoto, Kotaro Yoshida, and Koji Mukai, while the film features Rie Miyazawa, Rowoon, Rui Tsukishima, and Kanichiro.
Last Man – FIRST LOVE will premiere nationwide in Japan on Wednesday, December 24.
The brand-new special drama Last Man: The Blind Investigator – FAKE/TRUTH will air on TBS on Sunday, December 28 at 9 PM.
