The series is an original work written by renowned screenwriter Okazaki Satoko, known for Kaseifu no Mitazono, Cherry Magic, and Nippon Ichi no Saitei Otoko. Key supporting roles are also played by Sakurai Yuki and Miyazawa Hio, further strengthening the cast.

The story begins with a mysterious disappearance. After her husband goes missing, Asahi Seiko (played by Matsushita) struggles to manage the family’s oden shop while caring for her two children and mother-in-law. One month later, the police inform her that her husband has died in a river accident. Relying on personal belongings and physical features, Seiko identifies the body as her husband’s. However, one year later, the husband who was believed to be dead suddenly appears before her. Chaos escalates further when Seiko faces the consequences of having accepted insurance money due to the mistaken identification.

Blending family drama with suspense, the series explores themes of trust, responsibility, and the unpredictability of life when a single misidentification turns everything upside down.

Otto ni Machigai Arimasen premieres on January 5 and airs every Monday at 22:00 on Kansai TV/Fuji TV.
