The upcoming drama Niko Tama, starring Hashimoto Ai and Seto Koji, has unveiled its first poster along with the announcement of its theme song—oh my baby, an original track by Quruli. Adapted from Watanabe Peko’s manga of the same name, the series delves into the complexities of modern relationships and presents a portrait of “love without a definitive answer.” Higa Manami also takes on a key role, adding emotional depth to the narrative.

The story follows a couple who have been together for twelve years, from their university days to their present life together under one roof. Hashimoto plays Asao Atsuko, who works at Yonesuke Bento in Tokyo’s Yanaka district, leading a modest yet warm daily life. Seto portrays Iwashiro Kohei, a patent lawyer whose calm rationality is balanced by genuine tenderness. They share meals, notice each other’s smallest changes, and find comfort in a relationship built on long-term companionship.

Yet stability does not shield them from uncertainty. Kohei’s past relationship with Takano Yuko—played by Higa Manami, also a patent lawyer—resurfaces as the characters face pivotal life choices. The trio navigates hesitation, stubbornness, and emotional turbulence as they confront differing ideas of what “family” should look like. The drama presents these dilemmas with realism, portraying not only affection but also the unresolved questions that often accompany long relationships.

The supporting cast includes Sato Honami, Suzuki Jin, Shimizu Kurumi, Tsuji Nagiko, Kondo Shori, Takahashi Katsumi, Kimura Midoriko, Kuroda Daisuke, and Tsutsui Mariko, enriching the series with a nuanced ensemble.

Niko Tama will begin streaming on FOD and Prime Video starting December 26, offering a grounded, introspective look at love, partnership, and the choices that shape adulthood.
