The upcoming TV Asahi drama Okome no Onna – Kokuzeikyoku Shiryo Chosaka Zatsukokushitsu – starring Matsushima Nanako has announced additional cast members: Hayato Sano (M!LK), Neru Nagahama, and Yudai Chiba will be joining the series. The drama is set to air every Thursday at 9:00 p.m. starting January 8.
The story is set within a newly formed, fictional division of the Tokyo Regional Taxation Bureau known as the “Zatsukoku Room,” a special office created to tackle highly complex and ambiguous national tax cases. Matsushima Nanako plays Yoneda Seiko, the founder of this department. Determined to confront the rising tide of malicious tax evasion, she assembles a team of uniquely skilled individuals to take down offenders who hide behind loopholes and deception.
The newly announced cast members will portray characters connected to the Zatsukoku Room in various ways, further expanding the drama’s narrative scope. As more intricate cases emerge, the series aims to blend suspense with social realism, shedding light on the hidden challenges behind national tax investigations.
With its rare focus on tax-related crime, strong casting lineup, and distinctive premise, Okome no Onna is poised to become one of the notable suspense titles of early 2026.
