The upcoming drama Kurosaki-san no Ichizu na Ai ga Tomaranai, adapted from Okada Pico’s manga of the same name, has announced its lead cast: Hana Toyoshima and Jyutaro Yamanaka of M!LK. Blending youthful romance with light comedic elements, the series promises a warm, charming story about two people whose worlds slowly intertwine in unexpected ways.

The plot centers on high school student Koharu Shirase. After losing her mother three years ago, Koharu splits her time between school, helping her father run their family’s onigiri shop, and caring for her two younger brothers. Her days are busy but steady, fueled by a quiet resilience and tenderness.
One day, a surprising proposal breaks into her routine. Ayato Kurosaki—a genius novelist and a regular customer at their shop—suddenly asks her to marry him, declaring, “Marry me. I’ll pay 100 million yen.”
Despite his brilliance, Kurosaki has no experience in love, and his unpredictable, straightforward approach begins to shake Koharu’s heart. Through his clumsy but sincere gestures, Koharu encounters a new sense of warmth and uncertainty that gradually blossoms into something more.

With its gentle storytelling and soft emotional notes, the drama evokes the signature sweetness of Japanese romance series. Kurosaki’s mix of genius-level talent and awkward sincerity contrasts with Koharu’s grounded strength, creating a dynamic that feels both endearing and emotionally engaging.

Kurosaki-san no Ichizu na Ai ga Tomaranai will premiere on January 6, airing every Tuesday at 24:24 on NTV. As the broadcast date approaches, viewers look forward to watching how this bold “100-million-yen proposal” unravels into a delicate, heartwarming tale about first love, courage, and unexpected connections.
