The feature film Eiga Shojiki Fudosan has officially announced its theatrical release date of May 15, accompanied by the unveiling of a poster and trailer. It has also been confirmed that many of the familiar cast members from the television series will reprise their roles in the film. Adapted from the manga by Takeshi Natsuhara and Akira Otani, the live-action comedy offers a humorous yet insightful look into the real estate industry and the people whose lives revolve around homes on the market.

The story centers on Nagase Saichi, portrayed by Tomohisa Yamashita, the top-performing salesperson at a real estate company. Despite his professional success, Nagase’s greatest flaw is his inability to lie, a result of his uncompromising honesty. While this trait often places him at a disadvantage in a highly competitive business, it ultimately becomes his defining strength, allowing him to navigate deals and conflicts in unconventional ways. The narrative balances comedy with social observation, highlighting the contradictions of modern business practices.

The original television drama was produced by NHK and first aired in April 2022. Its popularity led to the production of a special episode and a second season, both released in response to strong audience demand. An additional spin-off, Shojiki Fudosan Minerva Special, was broadcast in February this year, further expanding the franchise.

In the film version, Yamashita reprises his role as Nagase, while Haruka Fukuhara returns as Tsukishita Sakura, his junior colleague. The movie also brings back ten actors from the television series, including Hasegawa Shinobu, Kusakari Masao, Dean Fujioka, Mikami Ai, Kurashina Kana, Takahashi Katsunori, Ichihara Hayato, Izumi Rika, Matsumoto Wakana, and Mao Daichi. With its established cast and a story that blends humor with industry insight, Eiga Shojiki Fudosan is positioned as a notable continuation of the well-received series.
