Upcoming romantic comedy “Positively Yours,” based on a popular webtoon, is gearing up for its premiere, and Dasom has shared further insight into her character and the drama’s appeal.
Positively Yours tells the story of the unexpected consequences following a one-night stand between a man and a woman who have both sworn off marriage. Choi Jin Hyuk stars as Kang Du Jun, the CEO of Taehan Liquor and a second-generation chaebol who appears to have everything, while Oh Yeon Seo plays Jang Hui Won, the youngest-ever manager on Taehan Liquor’s new product development team—brilliant at work but inexperienced in love.
Dasom portrays Hwang Mi Ran, Hui Won’s closest friend and drinking buddy, a figure who feels more like an older sister. Explaining her decision to join the project, Dasom said she was immediately drawn to Mi Ran’s honest, bright, and positive energy when she read the script, and was excited to see how the original web novel and webtoon would be adapted into a drama.
She also spoke about how relatable the character felt to her. Dasom shared that she has a friend similar to Hui Won in real life, which made it easy to connect with Mi Ran. However, unlike herself, Mi Ran is unapologetically honest, occasionally bold, and highly confident in expressing her emotions—qualities that give the character a refreshing charm.
Often described as a mood-maker on set, Dasom was asked who fills that role in Positively Yours. She immediately named Oh Yeon Seo, praising her contagious energy and laughter, and noting that whenever they film together, the atmosphere naturally becomes brighter and more relaxed—hinting at their strong on-screen and off-screen chemistry.
As for recommended scenes, Dasom pointed to moments where Mi Ran openly and boldly pursues Cha Min Uk, played by Hong Jong Hyun. She explained that these scenes best showcase Mi Ran’s straightforward approach to love and her fearless honesty.
In her message to viewers, Dasom described Positively Yours as a drama packed with variety—from Du Jun and Hui Won’s unconventional romance, to the intertwined love and friendship between Hui Won, Min Uk, and Mi Ran, and even the emotionally touching bond between the two female leads. She expressed hope that audiences would enjoy and warmly support the series.
Positively Yours premieres on January 17 at 10:30 p.m. KST and will be available to international viewers on Viki.
