The upcoming film Oni no Hanayome has announced an expanded cast, drawing renewed attention to the project. Starring Ren Nagase of King & Prince alongside Ai Yoshikawa, the film will also feature performances by Kentaro Ito, Rin Kataoka, Katsumi Hyodo, Ayana Shiramoto, Momoko Tanabe, Nanato Tanihara, Kyusaku Shimada, and Machiko Ono.

Adapted from the popular novel by Kureha, Oni no Hanayome is set in a world where humans and ayakashi coexist. Ayakashi are supernatural beings known for their striking beauty and extraordinary abilities. At times, they choose a human woman as their bride. For an ayakashi, this bond is absolute: once a bride is chosen, she becomes the sole recipient of his lifelong devotion.
The story centers on Yuzu Shinonome, a university student who has grown up neglected and mistreated by her family. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she is selected as the bride of Kiryuin Reiya, the next leader of the Oni clan, regarded as the most powerful among all ayakashi tribes. From that moment on, Yuzu’s fate changes dramatically, drawing her into a world where human vulnerability and supernatural destiny intertwine.

With its newly revealed ensemble cast, the film appears poised to deepen both its emotional landscape and narrative scope. Balancing fantasy elements with an intimate love story, Oni no Hanayome is scheduled for theatrical release on March 27, offering audiences a cinematic interpretation of a romance that transcends the boundary between the human and the otherworldly.
