First Script Reading Reveals a Healing Love Story of Winter and Summer
MBC’s upcoming drama In Your Radiant Season (literal title) has officially confirmed its premiere date for February 20 at 9:50 p.m. KST, alongside the release of photos from its first script reading. Centered on emotional healing, the series tells a story of connection between two people who live at opposite emotional temperatures.
The drama follows Sunwoo Chan, a man who approaches life as if every day were an exciting summer vacation, and Song Ha Ran, a woman who has withdrawn into herself as though living in a long emotional winter. Their encounter gradually leads them toward warmth, understanding, and mutual growth. The script reading brought together director Jung Sang Hee, writer Cho Sung Hee, and a full cast including Lee Sung Kyung, Chae Jong Hyeop, Lee Mi Sook, Kang Suk Woo, Han Ji Hyeon, Oh Ye Ju, Kwon Hyuk, Kim Tae Young, and Jang Yong Won.
Lee Sung Kyung stars as Song Ha Ran, the eldest of three sisters and the head designer of Nana Atelier, the country’s leading high-end fashion house. Carrying deep emotional scars, her character has long shut herself away from the world. During the reading, Lee Sung Kyung carefully conveyed the character’s restrained yet complex emotions. She shared that the script felt even more compelling in person and expressed confidence that the project would shine even brighter during filming.
Chae Jong Hyeop plays Sunwoo Chan, a character designer at a world-renowned animation studio. He brought a lively and uplifting presence to the room, noting that reading together with fellow actors made the story feel more three-dimensional and enjoyable than when he first encountered the script alone.
Veteran actress Lee Mi Sook takes on the role of Kim Na Na, a legendary figure in the global fashion industry and the grandmother of the three sisters, blending authority with warmth. Kang Suk Woo portrays Park Man Jae, a retired barista who runs the neighborhood café “Shim,” adding gentle realism to the story. Their performances hint at a tender, later-in-life romance that leaves a strong impression.
Han Ji Hyeon appears as the middle sister, Song Ha Young, a junior designer on Nana Atelier’s Design Team 1, characterized by her straightforward personality and bright energy. Oh Ye Ju plays the youngest sister, Song Ha Dam, presenting a composed and mature side that enriches the dynamic among the siblings.
Director Jung Sang Hee remarked that the drama ultimately centers on a heart that cherishes others, expressing hope that everyone involved would look back on the project with pride. With its blend of romance, family bonds, and emotional healing, In Your Radiant Season aims to offer viewers a warm and reflective viewing experience when it premieres later this winter.
