The upcoming film “Angel Flight THE MOVIE,” starring Yonekura Ryoko, has officially unveiled its trailer. The movie serves as a continuation of the 2023 television drama of the same name, carrying forward its deeply humanistic and emotionally grounded narrative.

Based on a non-fiction book by writer Sasa Ryoko, the story centers on Izawa Nami, portrayed by Yonekura Ryoko. Nami is the president of Angel Hearse, a small company headquartered at Haneda Airport that specializes in the international repatriation of bodies of those who pass away overseas. Her work places her at the intersection of strict international regulations, unexpected logistical challenges, and emotionally complex interactions with bereaved families. In addition, she is directly involved in restoring the bodies before they are returned home, ensuring dignity for the deceased.
The film version maintains continuity with the original drama, with several returning cast members including Matsumoto Honoka, Endo Kenichi, Shirota Yu, Yamoto Yuma, Tokui Yu, Noro Kayo, Oriyama Nao, Kamata Erena, and Tanida Ayumi.
“Angel Flight THE MOVIE” is scheduled for global exclusive release on Prime Video starting February 13.
